HB 4066, HB 4469
June 5, 2025
These bills just passed the State House. Now onto the State Senate.
No one wants to take anyone’s civil rights away. Everyone should respect trans people. But when it comes to athletics, yes, male bodies are different than female bodies.
Girls’ athletics creates economic opportunities for girls to qualify for college scholarships as well as NIL money (name, image, and likeness) or even professional contracts.
When trans athletes compete against girls, they are possibly taking roster spots and college scholarships away from girls and further exacerbating the income inequality that already exists between men and women. Also, in a contact sport, a boy could injure a girl due to the difference in strength and speed.
Trans women still have the right to compete in sports with their biological sex (male).
